Description

  • Provide technical leadership within the engineering vertical and guide team execution.
  • Build and lead one or more engineering teams delivering software according to best practices.
  • Clarify technical requirements, prioritize work, and manage projects to deliver on time.
  • Remove or escalate blockers to keep delivery moving.
  • Partner with Product and Design to define an ambitious, achievable roadmap for executives and stakeholders.
  • Set clear objectives and use data and KPIs to drive predictable execution and continuous improvement.
  • Report team status, metrics, and KPIs to executive audiences and key stakeholders.
  • Recruit, assess, and onboard diverse engineering talent.
  • Occasionally travel to Fanatics offices and other locations as needed.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience managing an engineering team.
  • 4+ years of experience building highly scalable and fault-tolerant systems.
  • Knowledge of multiple design approaches and the ability to deconstruct architecture across teams.
  • Ability to scope projects with targeted dates to meet business needs.
  • Ability to distinguish essential features from items that can be triaged or omitted.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining complex technical topics to different audiences.
  • Familiarity with Agile software delivery and SCRUM methodology.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in an entrepreneurial, hyper-growth environment where priorities change frequently.
  • Team-first mindset and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
  • Preferred: experience working in a start-up environment.
  • Preferred: experience with personalization and recommendation-focused products.
  • Preferred: comfort using AppsFlyer or similar tools for top-of-funnel user acquisition metrics.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $145,000 - $237,000 depending on geographical zone.
  • Full-time employment with bonus eligibility.
