Description

  • Design, build, and validate actuarial and statistical models for commercial lines pricing and portfolio analytics in Python.
  • Own and maintain the actuarial model library across D&O, Cyber, General Liability, Professional Liability, Property, and Employee Benefits.
  • Translate complex actuarial outputs into client-ready deliverables, board-ready presentations, and executive narratives.
  • Partner with solution engineering to move validated models from development into production on Azure Databricks and other governed platforms.
  • Maintain quality, validation, documentation, and auditability standards for actuarial analytics outputs.
  • Manage and direct onshore and offshore vendor resources, including domain guidance, quality review, and delivery oversight.
  • Collaborate with solution leads on architectural decisions affecting client-facing actuarial deliverables.
  • Engage with practice leaders and client executives to embed platform deliverables into new business and renewal workflows.
  • Develop reusable analytics solutions and training materials for brokers, practice leaders, and client-facing teams.
  • Contribute to the analytics roadmap by identifying opportunities for innovative, data-driven insights across lines of business.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of actuarial experience, including at least 3 years in commercial-lines brokerage, carrier, or consulting environments.
  • Actuarial credentials preferred, especially FCAS or ACAS.
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience building actuarial models in Python.
  • Production-level Python experience for actuarial modeling, statistical analysis, and data manipulation.
  • Working understanding of SDLC practices, including version control, testing, documentation, and engineering handoff.
  • Comfort with large policy, claims, and exposure datasets.
  • Working knowledge of Databricks, Azure, or equivalent cloud/data platforms.
  • Proven ability to create executive-level presentations and translate actuarial complexity into clear business narratives.
  • Prior exposure to brokerage analytics contexts preferred, including how actuarial outputs are used in placement and renewal cycles.
  • Working knowledge of commercial lines insurance across D&O, Cyber, GL, PL, Property, and Employee Benefits.
  • Familiarity with benchmarking, limit adequacy analysis, and TCOR modeling in client advisory and renewal negotiations.

  • Base salary range of $180,000 to $220,000, excluding bonuses and benefits.
