Description

  • Design and maintain the Playwright-based test framework, including page objects, test data management, and CI integration.
  • Define and enforce testability standards with developers, including data-testid conventions and API test hooks.
  • Own the testing strategy across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers.
  • Build and maintain tiered CI pipelines for smoke, regression, and full-suite runs.
  • Automate critical checkout, registration, analytics, tracking, and SEO validation flows.
  • Write production monitoring tests for system and third-party vendor availability.
  • Identify, triage, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps and root cause analysis.
  • Partner with engineering, product, and customer support to review requirements and assess test risk early.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a software engineering or SDET role with strong programming fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience building test frameworks from scratch, preferably with Playwright or similar tools such as Cypress.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript for framework development.
  • Experience designing CI/CD test pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions or CircleCI.
  • Understanding of the testing pyramid and how to place tests at the appropriate layer.
  • Experience working with developers on testability standards, including data-testid contracts and API test hooks.
  • Familiarity with API testing, network-layer assertions, and mocking or stubbing third-party integrations.
  • Experience with mobile test automation tools such as Maestro or Appium is a plus.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, availability testing, or SRE-adjacent practices is a plus.
