Description

  • Own the internal developer platform, including service templates, CI/CD pipelines, deployment tooling, feature flags, progressive delivery, and rollback automation.
  • Own SRE and production excellence for dLocal’s payment platforms, including observability, incident management, production readiness, on-call health, and error budgets.
  • Own the company’s AI-assisted engineering workflow, including dCoder, third-party assistant integrations, prompts, context engineering, and release guardrails.
  • Define and enforce engineering standards for code review, testing, deployment, and AI usage in partnership with Principal engineers and the Engineering Bar Raiser Program.
  • Lead adoption across hundreds of engineers through enablement, internal communications, champions, migration plans, and deprecation discipline.
  • Measure and improve key engineering metrics such as deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, time to restore, code turnover, SLO attainment, rollback success, and AI-assisted PR defect density.
  • Align platform decisions with engineering strategy and executive stakeholders to improve productivity without increasing production risk.
  • Shape how engineers build and ship software so that AI adoption is standardized, reliable, and safe in production.

Requirements

  • Experience leading platform engineering, SRE, or a combined function at scale across hundreds of engineers.
  • Background in fintech, payments, or another regulated, high-stakes environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of DORA metrics, especially change failure rate and code turnover in AI-assisted engineering contexts.
  • Hands-on familiarity with AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or agentic coding platforms.
  • Experience evaluating, deploying, or building in-house AI coding capabilities is preferred.
  • Proven ability to drive large-scale engineering change programs such as platform migrations, reliability standards, or AI adoption initiatives.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both senior engineers and executive stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Experience with in-house AI coding platforms beyond simple IDE integration is a plus.
  • Public thought leadership through writing, talks, or open-source contributions on platform engineering, reliability, or responsible AI is a plus.
