Description

  • Build efficient, high-quality special effects while managing memory usage and gameplay performance.
  • Research contemporary effects techniques and explore new technologies and solutions.
  • Collaborate with art, design, audio, and development teams to deliver visual effects.
  • Work under the Art Director’s creative guidance and deliver work on schedule.
  • Participate in the feedback loop by giving and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Maintain alignment with technical and production specifications throughout the VFX process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience creating high-quality VFX for video games.
  • Deep understanding of real-time special effects, particle systems, post-processing effects, shaders, and animation principles.
  • Strong artistic portfolio.
  • Strong grasp of game engines, tools, pipelines, and development processes.
  • Working knowledge of a commercial 3D package.
  • University degree in visual arts or a college diploma in graphic arts.
  • Excellent cross-discipline communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines under production conditions.
  • Receptive to creative direction and constructive feedback.
  • Experience with Maya, JangaFx, Houdini, Photoshop, Python, or Lua is preferred.
