Description

  • Review physician reports for accuracy and completeness against medical records, client standards, and jurisdictional requirements for long-term disability claims.
  • Verify that claims documentation supports physician determinations in long-term disability cases.
  • Apply policy guidelines and healthcare terminology to determine when long-term disability criteria are met.
  • Work closely with clients on a case-by-case basis to deliver complete, timely, and error-free quality assurance.
  • Communicate with physician reviewers and their teams to clarify information, answer questions, and meet client deadlines.
  • Manage and oversee complex long-term disability cases that require additional review before being returned to the client.
  • Serve as an additional quality assurance reviewer for cases with quality issues using clinical claims knowledge specific to disability.
  • Participate in other duties and special projects as assigned based on business needs.

Requirements

  • RN required.
  • Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of claims experience preferred.
  • Disability experience required.
  • Business experience in a healthcare and/or insurance setting preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Must work with a sense of urgency and meet deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong drive for performance excellence.
  • Attention to detail required.
  • Proficiency in navigating computer programs; experience with Google Chrome, Gmail, Docs, and Sheets is a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking, time management, computer literacy, and typing skills are essential.
  • Must supply and support own internet service and maintain uninterrupted internet connection for work from home.
  • Ability to perform job duties involving lifting, bending, traveling, long periods of sitting, and extended computer work.
