Description

  • Lead the design and delivery of complex AI initiatives within a product or technical domain.
  • Design, build, train, evaluate, and improve ML and LLM systems for patient- and provider-facing products.
  • Scope problems with clinicians and product partners, build datasets and evaluations, iterate on models, and deploy systems to production.
  • Develop evaluation frameworks including offline benchmarks, human-in-the-loop reviews, and online experiments.
  • Build data pipelines, training and inference infrastructure, model and prompt management, and tooling for clinical reviewers.
  • Partner with clinicians, product managers, and engineers to translate medical and operational needs into ML solutions.
  • Monitor deployed systems and implement appropriate safety guardrails.
  • Set technical direction, mentor engineers, and uphold engineering and scientific rigor.
  • Track AI research and ecosystem developments and apply relevant advances to Curai's products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Math, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on engineering experience, including 1+ year building and deploying ML systems with generative AI/LLMs.
  • Experience shipping reliable, well-tested production code in Python or a comparable language.
  • Practical knowledge of prompting, retrieval-augmented generation, fine-tuning, LLM evaluation, and related trade-offs.
  • Experience working with messy real-world data and designing evaluations to assess system performance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with clinicians, product managers, and engineers.
  • Ability to independently drive ambiguous problems from definition through delivery.
  • Commitment to improving health outcomes for patients.
  • Experience applying ML or LLMs in healthcare, life sciences, or another regulated, high-stakes domain (preferred).
  • Experience with clinical NLP, medical knowledge representation, EHR data, agentic or tool-using LLM systems, scalable ML infrastructure, or technical leadership (preferred).
