Description

  • Lead the technical direction and execution of ramp-related features and infrastructure.
  • Guide and mentor junior and mid-level engineers across backend, frontend, and mobile disciplines.
  • Design and build secure, scalable systems that connect users to third-party ramp providers and payments infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers across MetaMask to ship cross-platform features.
  • Maintain high code quality through design discussions, code reviews, automated testing, and documentation.
  • Ensure reliability, observability, and performance of RAMPS services and user flows.
  • Own architectural decisions that impact revenue-generating user experiences.
  • Partner with mobile and extension teams to create unified, seamless ramping experiences across platforms.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in full-stack or backend engineering roles.
  • 3+ years working with mobile-based technologies and 3+ years building websites or applications.
  • Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and modern web technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects, mentoring engineers, and making architectural decisions.
  • Familiarity with payment infrastructure, APIs, and third-party integrations (experience with fiat on/off ramps, DeFi, or financial infrastructure is a bonus).
  • Ability to think critically about edge cases, system security, failure modes, performance, observability, and long-term system health.
  • Experience working in agile, cross-functional, remote-first or distributed teams with strong collaboration and communication skills in English.
  • Commitment to clean code practices, testing, and maintainable software, plus a growth mindset and strategic thinking that balances technical quality with business outcomes.
  • Passion for Web3, decentralization, and understanding of wallets and the MetaMask ecosystem (preferred).
  • Willingness to undergo background checks (employment, education, and criminal record) as a condition of employment.

  • US salary range $146,000–$218,000 (not including bonus, equity, or other benefits).
