Description

  • Provide primary legal support to the business on a range of legal and regulatory matters and raise legal issues as they arise.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, partnerships, licensing, and vendor agreements in line with internal playbook guidance.
  • Maintain and assist with the contract management system, including contract tracking and template/documentation maintenance.
  • Identify and assess legal risks across operations, products, and services and support development of mitigation strategies, escalating to Senior Legal Counsel as needed.
  • Assist with mapping, managing, and researching the company’s intellectual property and global IP law implications.
  • Support corporate governance by maintaining corporate records and ensuring compliance with corporate law requirements.
  • Support dispute resolution and pre-litigation negotiations, and assist with managing external counsel during mediation, arbitration, or litigation.
  • Assist with preparation and submission of regulatory filings, reports, and disclosures to relevant authorities.
  • Support policy development and implementation, maintain the company’s code of conduct, and contribute to internal playbooks and knowledge-sharing.
  • Support legal vendor acquisition processes, mentor interns when required, and handle ad hoc legal tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years post-qualification experience (PQE) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience as in-house legal counsel, preferably with exposure to technology or financial services.
  • Bachelor of Laws degree and CLP or admission to the Bar in a jurisdiction relevant to the company’s operations.
  • Foundational knowledge across contracts, intellectual property, regulatory affairs, and data privacy.
  • Good understanding of commercial laws and laws governing digital/SaaS products.
  • Ability to quickly learn the technology and cryptocurrency industry and stay up-to-date with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Strong commercial awareness, resourcefulness, and an entrepreneurial mindset suitable for a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • High attention to detail and operational excellence, with ability to design and implement cross-functional procedures to reduce errors.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and sound judgment to assess risks and present well-structured written and verbal arguments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage internal and external stakeholders and resolve disputes constructively.
  • Integrity when handling sensitive and private data, a growth mindset, and a keen interest in the cryptocurrency/Web3 industry.
