Description

Own backend services throughout design, development, deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
Design and maintain scalable, high-performance Python and Django backend services.
Architect low-latency, highly available distributed systems supporting millions of users.
Own APIs, data pipelines, Kafka-based messaging infrastructure, and caching components.
Optimize systems for throughput, latency, fault tolerance, and resilience under heavy load.
Implement unit, integration, and performance testing strategies.
Improve development processes, monitoring, logging, and overall system observability.
Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable features on tight timelines.
Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, architecture discussions, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

5+ years of Python backend development experience.
Experience with Django or FastAPI and asynchronous programming using asyncio.
Production experience with Apache Kafka.
Strong experience with distributed systems, microservices, or similar architectures.
Experience deploying and managing containerized applications with Docker.
Familiarity with cloud providers, preferably AWS.
Proficiency with SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and code reviews.
Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
B2 or higher English proficiency and comfort working in Agile teams.
Experience with Kubernetes, NoSQL databases, event sourcing, CQRS, Terraform, Flink, NiFi, or React (preferred).
Experience supporting systems with 1M+ users or working in sports or betting industries (preferred).
