Description

Own backend services throughout design, development, deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance Python and Django backend services.
Architect distributed systems that deliver low-latency, highly available experiences for millions of users.
Own backend infrastructure components, including APIs, data pipelines, Kafka message brokers, and caching.
Optimize systems for throughput, latency, fault tolerance, and resilience under heavy load.
Implement unit, integration, and performance testing strategies.
Improve development processes, system monitoring, logging, and observability.
Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable features on aggressive timelines.
Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, architecture discussions, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

4+ years of Python backend development experience.
Experience with Django and/or FastAPI and asynchronous programming with asyncio.
Production experience with Apache Kafka.
Strong experience with distributed systems, microservices, or similar architectures.
Experience deploying and managing containerized applications with Docker.
Familiarity with cloud providers, preferably AWS.
Proficiency with SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and monitoring/logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
Strong problem-solving skills, code review experience, and comfort working in Agile teams.
English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
Experience with Kubernetes, NoSQL databases, event sourcing/CQRS, React, Flink, NiFi, Terraform, systems supporting 1M+ users, or the sports/betting industry is preferred.
