Description

  • Work on real product tasks alongside an experienced engineer who provides guidance and support.
  • Contribute features in CloudLinux OS, depending on team placement and project needs.
  • Work on kernel live-patching efforts in KernelCare/TuxCare, depending on team placement and project needs.
  • Build infrastructure and tooling that support Linux and security products.
  • Participate in a practical, phased engineering challenge that demonstrates problem-solving and prioritization.
  • Use AI tools during the challenge and make judgment calls about approach, verification, and trade-offs.
  • Prioritize work within an intentionally incomplete task rather than simply finishing every part.

Requirements

  • Strong curiosity and a desire to understand how things work beyond what is explicitly required.
  • Ability to take initiative and find information independently when instructions are incomplete.
  • Fast learning speed and the ability to apply new knowledge quickly.
  • Resourcefulness when one approach does not work.
  • Systems thinking with attention to bigger-picture trade-offs and context.
  • Ability to reflect honestly on what you know, what you do not know, and what you would try next.
  • Interest in Linux, security, or systems.
  • Personal projects, open-source contributions, CTFs, hackathons, or similar self-driven learning are preferred signals.
  • No Computer Science degree, specific university, prior industry experience, competitive-programming wins, or existing Linux/security expertise are required.
