Description

  • Design and build a scalable lakehouse platform from raw ingestion through downstream consumption.
  • Define end-to-end data lifecycle architecture for analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence.
  • Develop and review production-grade pipelines, frameworks, and platform services.
  • Lead data cleaning, transformation, and entity resolution for unstructured legal and historical records.
  • Provision, manage, and scale cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
  • Set engineering standards, code quality practices, and architectural guardrails.
  • Mentor engineers on data engineering and platform practices.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions and present and defend architectural decisions to client leadership.
  • Collaborate with AI architecture and product ownership within a lean, AI-native delivery team.

Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on experience designing and building enterprise data platforms from scratch as both architect and individual contributor.
  • Deep expertise in Databricks and lakehouse architecture.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; AWS experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, or AWS CDK.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, distributed computing, ETL/ELT patterns, and entity resolution.
  • Experience designing platforms that support data science, machine learning, and business intelligence.
  • Background in data engineering and pipeline or platform development rather than analytics-only work.
  • Advanced written and spoken English for daily communication with U.S.-based client leadership.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills, including presenting and defending technical solutions.
  • Databricks certification, legal or financial services experience, AI/ML platform experience, and experience in small AI-native teams are preferred.
