Description

  • Apply open-source investigation techniques, including geolocation, chronolocation, and satellite imagery analysis, to collect, verify, and analyze data from open sources.
  • Record and organize investigation findings in databases using pre-set information fields and appropriate sourcing.
  • Contribute to timely delivery of high-quality project outputs, including reports and briefings.
  • Prepare bespoke training materials and use pre- and post-training assessments to tailor training design.
  • Oversee or conduct joint open-source research projects with external partners.
  • Provide mentorship to external partners on open-source investigative techniques, data visualization, digital security, and mitigation of vicarious trauma.
  • Deliver in-person and remote OSINT training across beginner to intermediate and advanced levels.
  • Work closely with other trainers and investigators on project activities.
  • Contribute to internal reviews of effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Travel occasionally to deliver in-person training.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in OSINT-driven investigations, including geolocation and chronolocation techniques, as well as social media monitoring.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting external partners in digital investigations is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience conducting OSINT research in the Middle East.
  • Fluency in Arabic at C1 / Professional level, including Levantine, and proficiency in English.
  • Proficiency in satellite imagery analysis and experience using tools such as Planet.
  • Extensive experience delivering OSINT training and mentorship, both in-person and remote, covering beginner to intermediate/advanced topics.
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical terminology for lay audiences.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for in-person training.
  • Contractor availability for a remote role with full-time or part-time commitment (12–15 days per month), depending on funding.
