Description

  • Serve as the principal legal business partner to GTM, Information Security, Engineering, Product, and Compliance teams for U.S. Public Sector growth.
  • Lead drafting, review, and negotiation of software licenses, SaaS agreements, teaming arrangements, and partner/reseller contracts.
  • Shape internal policies and processes, develop contract templates, and deliver training to support stakeholders and reduce sales-cycle friction.
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, agency-specific supplements, and public sector data protection and privacy requirements.
  • Collaborate with and manage external legal advisors to ensure cost-effective and high-quality legal support.
  • Identify legal, financial, and regulatory risks and propose practical mitigation strategies.
  • Advise the organization on developments in public sector law and policy and help navigate changing regulations.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Native or bilingual fluency in English is required.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible legal experience in government contracting.
  • Experience combining law firm training with in-house work at a high-growth SaaS or cloud provider is preferred.
  • Practical experience with FedRAMP authorizations and SaaS-specific licensing models.
  • Demonstrated expertise in SaaS and public cloud compliance, including procurement, privacy, data protection, export, and technology issues.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues to non-legal audiences.
  • Experience supporting quota-carrying enterprise sales personnel.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with demanding internal clients and provide creative solutions to complex challenges.
  • High emotional intelligence and business acumen for collaboration and negotiation across internal teams and external partners.
  • Previous military experience is a plus.
  • Visa sponsorship is not offered for this role.

  • Base salary range of $194,000 to $230,000 USD for Washington, D.C.
  • Total compensation includes bonus/commission, equity, and benefits.
