Description

  • Partner with operational and analytics teams to translate business needs into analytics-ready data models, curated data marts, and reusable datasets.
  • Build and maintain dbt projects across staging, intermediate, and mart layers, including macros, exposures, packages, and source freshness.
  • Design and evolve dimensional data models, including facts, dimensions, grain, and slowly changing dimension patterns.
  • Own metrics definitions end to end, including KPI logic, naming standards, calculation rules, governance, and semantic layer consistency.
  • Implement data quality checks and monitoring using dbt tests, constraints, anomaly checks, and observability practices.
  • Create documentation and enablement materials such as dbt docs, lineage, data dictionaries, metric definitions, and onboarding guides.
  • Optimize Snowflake warehouse performance and cost through SQL tuning, incremental models, materializations, and efficient data design.
  • Use Git-based development practices, peer review, CI checks, versioning, and environment promotion to deploy changes safely.
  • Investigate and resolve data issues to protect system reliability and data integrity.
  • Support critical analytics data products and participate in on-call coverage as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience building analytics datasets in a modern cloud data warehouse, with Snowflake preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt Core, including model development, tests, documentation, macros, and deployments.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling concepts, including dimensional/Kimball modeling, facts, dimensions, grain, and slowly changing dimensions.
  • Experience defining and managing metrics, including translating business logic into KPI definitions and maintaining metric governance.
  • 1+ years of experience delivering production-grade analytics models, marts, or BI-ready datasets; internships or co-ops may be considered depending on leveling.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and communicate clearly in documentation and discussions.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to solve complex technical challenges while delivering high-quality work.
  • Experience in healthcare, PBM, insurance, or other regulated data environments is preferred.
  • Deep familiarity with Snowflake and experience working across multiple warehouses or databases such as Redshift or Postgres is preferred.
  • Familiarity with semantic or metrics layer patterns and enabling KPI consumption across BI tools is preferred.
  • Experience with CI/CD for analytics and data observability or monitoring practices is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Python for data tooling or analytics enablement is preferred.
