Description

  • Research and create new items and CSI MasterFormat divisions for the unit cost database, including descriptions, scope clarifications, markups, labor, material, and equipment costs.
  • Update existing unit costs and expand or clarify item descriptions and scope.
  • Identify relationships between items, quantities, and costs to build assembly-based unit costs.
  • Evaluate, approve, or reject contractor-submitted items and costs.
  • Work with contractors, field Account Managers, and client Project Managers to select items, review and verify bid proposals, reconcile item costs and scope, and add new items.
  • Collaborate with estimators, architects, engineers, client representatives, and other project team members.
  • Handle additional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred, plus 3 years of experience; or 5 years of experience in lieu of formal education.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical cost estimating, including commercial building types, electrical system types, means and methods, and regional market conditions.
  • Experience with CSI MasterFormat and UniFormat coding structures.
  • Experience with CSI MasterFormat Divisions 20 through 23, 33, and 40 construction items, details, and costs.
  • Ability to adopt and use multiple software platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, collaboration, and time management skills.
