Description

  • Lead, coach, hire, and develop the Security team while managing priorities and performance.
  • Own Canary’s security and compliance programs, including SOC 2, PCI DSS, GDPR/CCPA, and other applicable frameworks.
  • Serve as Canary’s primary security contact for customers, partners, auditors, and executives.
  • Manage vendor and third-party security risk, including reviewing security terms in contracts.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate company-wide security policies and standards.
  • Run security awareness and training programs.
  • Set technical direction for security tooling and participate hands-on in architecture and threat-model reviews.
  • Manage audits, risk posture, and security communications across the organization.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in security engineering.
  • 2+ years leading a security team as a manager or technical lead.
  • End-to-end ownership of compliance programs such as SOC 2 Type II, PCI DSS, or ISO 27001.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud security, identity and access management, application security, and vulnerability management.
  • Experience with vendor risk management and reviewing security terms in customer and vendor contracts.
  • Experience building pragmatic, risk-based security programs at a growth-stage SaaS company.
  • Hospitality, fintech, or payments industry experience preferred.
  • CISSP, CISM, or CISA certification preferred.
