Description

  • Own visual and interaction design across web and iOS/Android products, from user flows and wireframes through high-fidelity UI and motion design.
  • Design dashboards and data visualizations that translate complex clinical data into actionable insights.
  • Create and scale Cala’s visual and interaction design language, including component libraries, design tokens, and versioning.
  • Conduct user research, interviews, Voice of Customer studies, and usability testing with Product Management.
  • Develop high-fidelity designs for multimodal experiences, including notifications and feedback across connected devices.
  • Maintain UI/UX documentation, redlines, specifications, and version-controlled engineering handoff materials.
  • Lead cross-functional design reviews from concept through implementation and scale design operations in a regulated medical device environment.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and QA to assess feasibility and implement cohesive, accessible experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, HCI, Interaction Design, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of digital UI/UX or product design experience delivering web and mobile products.
  • Experience designing healthcare platforms for patients or clinicians within HIPAA and PHI privacy requirements.
  • Deep knowledge of Apple Human Interface Guidelines, Google Material Design, WCAG, and inclusive design.
  • Familiarity with IEC 62366, FDA Human Factors guidance, and regulated usability documentation practices.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with Product, Engineering, and QA.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong visual design and end-to-end UX work across connected platforms.
  • Proficiency in Figma, including components, auto layout, variables, modes, Dev Mode, prototypes, and documentation.
  • Experience with usability testing, design systems, design tokens, and front-end collaboration using HTML/CSS, React, or SwiftUI.
  • Authorized to work full-time in the United States; sponsorship may be considered individually.
  • Wearable or embedded UI, FDA/CE usability testing, AI/ML-regulated products, or code-based prototyping experience preferred.
