Description

  • Lead end-to-end product design for App 2.0, from information architecture and user flows through prototypes, interaction design, high-fidelity UI, and implementation.
  • Translate product strategy, customer needs, and business priorities into intuitive experiences that improve engagement and adoption.
  • Design responsive desktop and mobile-optimized experiences for different user behaviors and interaction patterns.
  • Establish and evolve the App 2.0 design system, including components, patterns, tokens, behaviors, documentation, and governance.
  • Partner with Engineering to preserve design intent, reduce UX drift, and minimize unnecessary custom components and design debt.
  • Apply WCAG 2.2 AA principles and collaborate with Engineering and Compliance to address accessibility findings.
  • Develop BrightPlan’s AI-first design practice, including AI-enabled agents, skills, instructions, and workflows.
  • Use customer research, analytics, experiments, A/B testing, and usability feedback to validate designs and measure impact.
  • Engage customers, the Customer Advisory Board, and internal stakeholders to gather input and validate concepts.
  • Support App 1.0 design needs during the transition to App 2.0.

Requirements

  • Significant product design experience with a portfolio of shipped work across complex digital products.
  • Experience leading end-to-end design for major features, experiences, or new products through implementation.
  • Experience establishing or significantly evolving a design system in a component-based development environment.
  • Strong interaction, visual, information architecture, and prototyping skills using Figma or comparable tools.
  • Working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA and experience applying accessibility principles during design.
  • Experience using AI in product design and interest in improving design workflows through AI.
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to balance feature needs with product-wide consistency.
  • Strong collaboration skills with Product Management and Engineering, including communicating rationale and navigating tradeoffs.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a small, fast-moving organization.
  • Evidence-based approach to testing assumptions, measuring outcomes, and iterating.
  • Experience with financial services, employee benefits, healthcare, or other regulated products preferred.
  • Familiarity with React Native, shadcn, Tailwind, or similar component frameworks preferred.
  • Experience with accessibility audits, VPAT/ACR findings, product analytics tools such as Mixpanel, or AI-enabled product experiences preferred.
  • Must live and work in the United States and be authorized to work without current or future visa sponsorship.

  • Annual base salary of $165,000–$195,000.
