Description

  • Design, implement, and monitor security controls across AWS using IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, KMS, VPC, Config, and related services.
  • Secure Linux systems and Docker/Kubernetes workloads through host hardening, image security, runtime protection, and cluster configuration.
  • Own security configuration for corporate infrastructure, identity tools such as JumpCloud, and zero-trust access tools such as Twingate.
  • Administer Splunk as a security data platform, including log-source onboarding, data pipelines, platform health, and licensing.
  • Lead vulnerability and CVE lifecycle management, including triage, root-cause analysis, patching, remediation tracking, and MTTR improvement.
  • Build security automation and remediation tooling with Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Implement policy-as-code, IaC scanning, security guardrails, and deployment baselines within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Define infrastructure logging and telemetry requirements to support SOC detection and response.
  • Develop and operationalize security architecture standards across cloud, container, corporate, and on-premises environments.
  • Partner with the SOC on incident response, mentor junior engineers, and prioritize initiatives based on risk and business impact.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of hands-on cybersecurity engineering experience focused on cloud security, infrastructure security, and system hardening.
  • Deep experience designing and securing AWS environments, including IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, KMS, Config, and Inspector.
  • Strong Linux administration and hardening experience, including Docker and Kubernetes security.
  • Experience securing corporate infrastructure and identity or zero-trust platforms such as JumpCloud and Twingate.
  • Experience administering and integrating Splunk or comparable SIEM/data platforms, including log-source onboarding and pipeline maintenance.
  • Experience owning vulnerability and CVE management, patching, root-cause analysis, and MTTR or remediation reporting.
  • Proficiency in Python, Go, Bash, or similar scripting languages for security automation.
  • Experience implementing policy-as-code, IaC scanning, and CI/CD security controls.
  • Working knowledge of CIS and NIST frameworks and common infrastructure, container, and web application weaknesses.
  • Strong cross-functional communication, mentoring, and security prioritization skills; AWS Security Specialty, CKS, CISSP, CCSP, or CCSK certifications are preferred.
