Description

  • Audit supplier processes to identify opportunities to improve cost, lead times, and quality.
  • Conduct on-site supplier audits to root cause quality issues and performance challenges.
  • Assess supplier capabilities and drive development plans aligned with engineering and operational priorities.
  • Provide technical guidance to suppliers on part specifications, manufacturing processes, standards, and quality measures.
  • Track supplier performance metrics for delivery, quality, and cost.
  • Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement plans to address supplier issues.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to protect uninterrupted production and delivery.
  • Support new product introduction by ensuring suppliers meet quality and delivery requirements during development.
  • Work with suppliers on onboarding for new designs and production needs.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in mechanical hardware manufacturing and/or manufacturing engineering.
  • Ideal experience in composite manufacturing and injection molding.
  • Ability to analyze and explain 2D drawings and critical features of mechanical components.
  • Ability to travel to domestic and international suppliers approximately 50% or more of the time.
  • Background in supplier development, quality engineering, production process improvement, and supply chain management within aerospace (preferred).
  • Experience with mechanical components such as composites, 3D printed parts, injection molded parts, and machined parts.
  • Experience working with engines or related aerospace hardware (preferred).
