Description

  • Build production-grade security applications and services in Python to secure critical infrastructure and workflows.
  • Develop internal security platforms and tooling from scratch, including APIs and integrations with existing systems.
  • Design and implement secure cloud architectures on AWS and enforce security controls for networking and access.
  • Secure CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) to prevent secret leakage, enforce signed artifacts, and enable immutable builds.
  • Implement policy enforcement for IAM least-privilege models and secrets management (e.g., Vault, SSM, Sealed Secrets).
  • Own and operate code and artifact scanning capabilities: SAST/DAST, dependency & SBOM scanning, and container image scanning.
  • Automate detection of misconfigurations, enforce security baselines, and implement automated security reviews and alerting.
  • Define security gates that balance developer velocity and risk, and improve runtime security controls for detection of suspicious activity and abuse prevention.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams on threat modeling, secure design reviews, and security-focused architecture decisions.
  • Support and lead technical aspects of incident response and post-mortems, driving continuous improvement from incidents and near-misses.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in infrastructure/platform/cloud security (practical, hands-on experience).
  • Advanced Python development skills for building production-grade software (APIs, services, tooling), not just scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD security tooling and securing CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions).
  • Experience building security applications and platforms, including automation-first approaches.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, specifically AWS, and secure cloud architecture patterns.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container security.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and integrating security into IaC workflows.
  • Experience with code and artifact scanning technologies (SAST/DAST, dependency/SBOM scanning, container image scanning).
  • Strong communicator who can influence engineers and operate in fast-moving production environments with a software engineering mindset applied to security problems.
