Description

  • Develop, maintain, and socialize brand style guides based on client and regulatory feedback.
  • Review and fact-check materials for correctness, credibility, compliance, decorum, sense, and adherence to brand standards.
  • Perform cold reads, word-for-word reviews, change checks, and other levels of editorial review as appropriate.
  • Identify copy and data-visualization errors and protect projects from quality risks.
  • Advise copywriters, brand teams, project managers, and other colleagues on editorial matters.
  • Train and onboard teammates on brand, editorial, and USM practices.
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback and communicate proactively with internal teams and occasional clients.
  • Manage multiple competing deadlines, coordinate resourcing with project managers, and complete assignments on time.
  • Follow SOPs and company policies, record time accurately, and contribute to projects outside assigned accounts as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; English preferred.
  • 2–4 years of proofreading and/or editing experience in a fast-paced pharmaceutical agency or similar environment.
  • Experience fact-checking annotations and verifying that claims are accurately supported and styled.
  • Strong knowledge of English and fluency in AMA style; familiarity with Dorland’s and PubMed preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; advanced use of Adobe Acrobat Reader and Workfront Proof.
  • Experience with internet and secondary research tools; familiarity with digital routing preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain focus while reviewing complex documents for extended periods.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, work independently with minimal supervision, and contribute effectively to cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication, judgment, integrity, dependability, and willingness to provide constructive feedback.
