Description

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on federal and state healthcare policy issues affecting healthcare stakeholders.
  • Monitor legislative, regulatory, and market developments and translate policy changes into business implications and strategic recommendations.
  • Develop expertise in key policy areas including Medicare Part B and Part D, the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and 340B.
  • Frame complex client challenges and synthesize information into evidence-based recommendations.
  • Apply qualitative and quantitative analysis to generate actionable insights for client objectives.
  • Manage day-to-day client relationships across multiple engagements as a primary point of contact for designated workstreams or accounts.
  • Lead project workstreams or teams to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and collaborate with subject matter experts across Avalere Health.
  • Review and guide Associates and other junior team members, providing feedback on drafts and work products.
  • Translate complex policy analysis and research into client-ready deliverables and executive presentations.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members and contribute to the growth of the Policy practice.
  • Use data-driven approaches and technology-enabled methods, including responsible AI and advanced analytical tools, to improve outcomes and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Health Policy, Public Policy, Law, Public Health, Health Economics, Healthcare Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in healthcare consulting, pharmaceuticals or biotechnology, health plans, advocacy, government, think tanks, or similar organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of the U.S. healthcare policy landscape and its commercial implications.
  • Knowledge of Medicare Part B and Part D, the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program under the Inflation Reduction Act, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and the 340B Drug Pricing Program.
  • Ability to translate complex policy analysis, research findings, and data into actionable business recommendations.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, including budgets, timelines, scope, and client expectations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills for technical and executive audiences.
  • Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently with limited oversight.
  • Experience developing client proposals, statements of work, or supporting business development activities (preferred).
  • Experience leading client-facing presentations and executive discussions (preferred).
  • Experience using advanced Excel, visualization tools, AI-enabled workflows, or other analytical technologies (preferred).
