Description

  • Partner with Product Managers, Designers, Autonomy, and Operations stakeholders to deliver autonomous vehicle capabilities safely and broadly.
  • Architect and build scalable cloud services for real-time and offline data flows used in fleet optimization, autonomy improvement, and commercial operations.
  • Develop and deploy highly available, low-latency backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.
  • Design complex systems from the ground up in collaboration with software, hardware, and infrastructure engineering teams.
  • Lead design and implementation of fleet management solutions and partner API integrations.
  • Add new features to existing products and develop greenfield products for commercial fleet operations.
  • Mentor senior engineers and raise the technical bar through code reviews, design discussions, and engineering best practices.
  • Translate operational data and autonomy metrics into actionable insights through operator-facing tools and APIs.
  • Drive technical strategy and long-term roadmaps across multiple engineering teams.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of industry experience in software development with experience designing, building, and operating large-scale backend systems.
  • Deep expertise in cloud development, including scalable web services, distributed systems, and modern API design.
  • Experience working with Product Management and UI/UX Design teams to define and deliver features at scale.
  • Proficiency with cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices such as AWS, Kubernetes, ElastiCache, CI/CD, and monitoring/alerting systems.
  • Experience building large-scale gRPC services in Golang.
  • Experience in a leadership role driving technical strategy, architectural decisions, and mentoring senior engineers.
  • Experience defining technical roadmaps and driving long-term strategic projects across multiple engineering teams.
  • Strong communication skills, including writing technical specs, giving feedback, translating technical concepts, and collaborating effectively.
  • A self-starter mindset with strong judgment, adaptability, and a bias for action in a growing environment.
  • Preferred experience with safety- and mission-critical applications.
  • Preferred experience with onboard C++ development for autonomous vehicles or other robotics.
  • Preferred experience with operations research or optimization algorithms.
  • Preferred experience in transportation, logistics, or other time-sensitive operations.
  • Preferred experience with fleet management solutions for robots, vehicles, or aerial drones.
  • Preferred experience with external customer-facing software and production rollouts with real customers.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $212,000 to $340,000.
  • Annual bonus eligibility.
  • Equity compensation.
  • Benefits package offered to the successful candidate.
  • Hybrid work environment with at least 3 days per week in the office.
