Description

  • Build, maintain, and scale back-end platform services that support Data and AI capabilities for internal and external customers.
  • Develop and ship new features within Arbor’s core product suite.
  • Own the delivery of high-impact features across core systems and processes.
  • Design and implement advanced tests to improve coverage, reliability, and quality.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve critical system bugs and issues.
  • Maintain code quality through thorough code reviews and scalable, maintainable implementation practices.
  • Produce well-architected technical solutions and maintain documentation and diagrams.
  • Collaborate with engineering, QA, product, and technical leadership to refine and deliver feature requests.
  • Support interviewing, scrum ceremonies, product quality improvements, lead-time optimisation, and technical debt reduction.
  • Mentor and coach mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience building back-end Python-based services.
  • Previous experience building features in PHP.
  • Experience with enterprise solutions and large-scale systems.
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies, including data modelling and performance optimisation best practices.
  • Proven experience managing large technical projects and delivering high-quality results with minimal supervision.
  • Proven experience designing and writing APIs and services in a service-oriented environment.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices such as SOLID and DRY.
  • Experience with refactoring, clean code, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and test automation.
  • Understanding of Scrum methodology or other agile development processes.
  • Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
