Description

  • Own the mobile app experience end-to-end for both iOS and Android.
  • Lead development of streaming playback features, including startup performance, buffering, adaptive streaming, and offline playback.
  • Design and implement discovery, search, recommendations, and personalized engagement experiences.
  • Architect scalable and maintainable React Native and TypeScript solutions using Expo.
  • Own Expo-based delivery workflows, including OTA updates, CI/CD pipelines, and release strategies.
  • Build and ship features such as downloads, offline mode, notifications, and membership flows.
  • Debug and solve complex mobile issues involving playback, background downloads, offline sync, push notifications, and app lifecycle management.
  • Define and track product and engineering metrics to guide decisions and improve app performance.
  • Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring, and architectural direction.
  • Improve developer productivity through better tooling, testing, CI/CD, and shared engineering patterns.

Requirements

  • 10–15+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 5–8+ years of mobile application development experience.
  • 4+ years of production React Native experience.
  • Strong experience with TypeScript and modern frontend architecture.
  • Proven track record of owning and shipping complex consumer-facing applications.
  • Experience working on apps used by real users at scale.
  • Familiarity with Expo, OTA updates, mobile CI/CD pipelines, and release strategies.
  • Experience with streaming, video playback, buffering, caching, or other performance-critical systems preferred.
  • Experience defining and using A/B tests and metrics to guide product and engineering decisions.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, mentorship, and cross-functional alignment skills.

Benefits

  • $160,000–$190,000 annual salary.
  • Remote work environment.
  • Full-time position with a 40-hour workweek.
  • 2–4 onsite events in Utah per year, with limited additional travel expected.
