Description

  • Define the end-to-end AU manufacturing test discipline across in-process testing, system check-out, and factory acceptance testing for PCBA, bottle, and vehicle stages.
  • Own the manufacturing test ecosystem, including test rigs, bring-up stations, check-out benches, FAT bases, and end-of-line testers.
  • Drive the transition from one-off setups to a common, config-managed test framework.
  • Lead a growing manufacturing test team.
  • Own the quality interface for test acceptance, including IQ/OQ/PQ, gauge R&R, FAT acceptance routing, and NCR/CAPA when needed.
  • Partner with U.S. sites to converge on equivalent test capabilities and shared frameworks.
  • Influence design reviews to improve testability and instrumentation readiness.
  • Lead diagnosis, fixes, and recurrence prevention when test issues stop production.
  • Own test infrastructure and make build-versus-buy decisions for the plant test environment.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, Mechatronic, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong fundamentals in instrumentation, signal integrity, power systems, sensors, actuators, harnessing, and PCBA-level debug.
  • Experience standing up or substantially rebuilding a manufacturing test capability.
  • Hands-on experience across PCBA bring-up, board-level functional testing, sub-assembly check-out, and system-level FAT.
  • Ability to work with ICT, FCT, custom rigs, environmental testing, and RF testing.
  • Independent debug skills in Linux-based test environments, including parsing logs, flashing builds, and isolating failure modes.
  • Strong Python skills and comfort with at least one of LabVIEW, TestStand, C/C++, or similar test software stacks.
  • Working knowledge of USB, Ethernet, RS232/RS485, CAN, I2C, SPI, and related interfaces.
  • Experience hiring, mentoring, or leading test engineers, or readiness to do so.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government NV2 Security Clearance and Australian citizenship.
  • Preferred: Manufacturing test leadership experience in aerospace, defence, medical device, complex electronics, automotive, or subsea.
  • Preferred: Experience in low-rate, high-mix, in-house production.
  • Preferred: Cross-site test discipline coordination between two production sites.
  • Preferred: Fluency with MES and TES systems.
  • Preferred: NixOS or declarative system configuration for test environments.
  • Preferred: GUI development for technician-facing test consoles.
  • Preferred: AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems and audit interface experience.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with MES, Oracle ERP, and Teamcenter PLM.
