Description

  • Collaborate within the Maritime team to design, integrate, build, and test autonomous maritime systems.
  • Develop mechanical packaging solutions for mission system components such as radars, EO/IR sensors, antennas, and onboard computing hardware.
  • Create mounting structures, vibration isolation systems, and thermal management solutions for defense hardware.
  • Own mechanical systems and platform development from initial concept through low-rate production.
  • Define requirements, propose solutions, and establish methods for evaluating and verifying mechanical systems.
  • Partner with electrical, software, and systems teams to deliver a reliable, flexible, and cost-effective system.
  • Lead design reviews, perform analysis, visit vendors, and prototype hardware test plans.
  • Contribute to improving team tools, templates, processes, and standards.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Prior involvement in comprehensive technical projects in collegiate or professional settings.
  • Experience with mechanical integration of mission systems such as sensors, C4ISR, antennas, or weapons in maritime, aerospace, or defense systems, with maritime preferred.
  • Proven CAD skills, with Siemens NX experience preferred.
  • Ability to produce high-quality engineering drawings that comply with common industry standards.
  • Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.
  • Experience with the design, implementation, and support of robotic and/or autonomous systems (preferred).
  • Experience working in the defense, maritime, and/or aerospace domains (preferred).
  • Experience with finite element analysis of complex structural assemblies, including aluminum and composite structures (preferred).
  • Experience with machining, sheet metal, injection molding, composites, and/or additive manufacturing (preferred).
  • Experience across the product delivery lifecycle, including manufacturing, system acceptance, deployment, and sustainment (preferred).
