Description

  • Design, build, and maintain shared platform components and libraries to standardize code, reduce duplication, and improve code quality across teams.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify and prioritize improvements across the engineering stack and shared resources.
  • Implement and lead application observability initiatives, including performance metrics, log aggregation, tracing, and alerting systems.
  • Execute complex engineering projects end-to-end, including coding, testing, and delivering production-ready solutions that impact the whole organization.
  • Foster a deterministic testing culture and practices that minimize technical debt and bureaucracy.
  • Balance shipping speed and quality by making pragmatic tradeoffs between progress and perfection.
  • Engage in cross-team technical design discussions and demonstrate technical leadership by example to influence standards and integrations.
  • Communicate technical concepts and system designs clearly to non-technical stakeholders and build strong collaborative relationships across the company.

Requirements

  • Expert coding skills in Golang.
  • Proven experience establishing shared libraries or platform components to drive standardization and reduce duplication across teams.
  • Experience with application observability: setting up performance metrics, log aggregation, distributed tracing, and alerting.
  • Track record of executing complex engineering projects with appropriate coding and testing practices.
  • Experience working on cross-functional projects and collaborating across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and soft skills, including the ability to adapt communication for technical and non-technical audiences and to work empathetically.
  • Passion for continuously refining systems and processes and acting as a force multiplier in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Experience fostering testing culture and minimizing tech debt (deterministic testing practices).
  • Bonus / preferred: Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), GitOps, Helm, Google Cloud Platform, and security experience.
