Description

  • Contribute to the Web Platform team’s tooling and infrastructure across developer experience, velocity, debuggability, performance, reliability, and cost reduction.
  • Build and improve foundational libraries, frameworks, and tools for development, testing, and release.
  • Partner with product teams to understand pain points, pilot solutions, and drive adoption of new tools and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and foundation teams to extend platform capabilities and align web tooling with broader systems.
  • Participate in all phases of software development, including architecture and design, implementation, testing, and on-call support.
  • Support teammates by promoting code quality, operational excellence, and shared learning.
  • Work on AI-powered developer experience improvements using tools such as Claude and Codex.
  • Improve CI debuggability, bundler performance, editor integrations, and client observability libraries.

Requirements

  • 2–4+ years of experience in a hands-on software engineering role, including frontend web development.
  • Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Interest in using AI tools such as Claude Code and Codex to modernize development practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work closely with other engineering teams across complex interfaces.
  • Comfort collaborating through code reviews and architecture discussions.
  • Interest in IDE infrastructure such as VS Code plugins, language servers, Claude Code skills, or MCP servers.
  • [Bonus] Experience beyond configuration with bundlers, testing frameworks, editor integrations, frontend build/CI systems, observability tooling, or developer environments.
  • US remote eligibility with the ability to live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $162,000 to $190,000 USD.
  • Eligible for bonus.
