Description

  • Own the hardest client situations from first signal through resolution, taking full accountability for complex, escalated, or high-risk accounts.
  • Diagnose root causes of at-risk engagements, including strategy, execution, expectation misalignment, and delivery failure, and design the right intervention.
  • Lead high-stakes conversations with founders and C-suite leaders to reset expectations, rebuild trust, and redirect momentum toward outcomes.
  • Maintain detailed case records to support accountability, continuity, and cross-account pattern recognition.
  • Monitor engagement health signals and intervene early to prevent situations from becoming formal escalations.
  • Develop and execute targeted recovery plans that address underlying causes rather than surface-level complaints.
  • Identify and close expansion opportunities within at-risk accounts once trust has been rebuilt.
  • Report weekly on case outcomes, revenue protected, churn signals, and recurring operational patterns.
  • Lead live advisory sessions with founders on offer, outbound, pipeline, execution, and go-to-market priorities where needed.
  • Act as a bridge between clients and internal delivery teams by translating client reality into structured, actionable feedback.
  • Contribute to escalation frameworks, retention playbooks, and client risk systems that scale beyond your individual caseload.
  • Identify broader delivery or operational gaps across accounts and propose process improvements to reduce escalations and repeat risk.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in client success, account management, consulting, or a senior operational role within a high-growth, agency, or tech-enabled environment.
  • Proven track record managing complex, escalated, or high-risk client accounts with clear recovery and retention outcomes.
  • Prior experience operating at or advising founder/C-suite level, including influencing decisions under pressure.
  • Background in at least one of the following: growth strategy, sales systems, offer development, delivery operations, or scaling advisory.
  • Direct exposure to cold outbound, go-to-market execution, or B2B sales systems, with enough depth to advise clients credibly.
  • Strong diagnostic ability to quickly identify root causes across strategy, execution, expectation, and delivery.
  • Ability to build and enforce clear action plans, priorities, and accountability frameworks.
  • Confident communicator with high emotional intelligence for handling difficult conversations and maintaining trust.
  • Expert-level negotiation and de-escalation skills in emotionally and commercially charged situations.
  • Commercially sharp understanding of pricing, business models, and downstream client decision impact.
  • High executive presence in live client conversations and in written summaries to leadership.
  • Meticulous documentation discipline for continuity, risk management, and process improvement.
  • Senior ownership mentality with independence, accountability, and comfort operating without close management.
  • Comfort working in ambiguity and fast-moving environments while staying structured and composed.
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with a bias toward resolution rather than escalation.
  • AI-native or highly AI-fluent, with active use of AI tools to improve output quality, speed, and documentation.
  • Discreet, professional judgment in sensitive, confidential, and commercially significant situations.
  • Proactive risk detection mindset with the ability to spot churn and engagement signals early.
  • Not a fit for candidates seeking a calm, predictable caseload or a traditional CSM/account management role.
