Description

  • Collaborate with the Merchant Risk team to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks tied to merchant and platform partners.
  • Review and approve financial services marketing materials for regulatory and industry compliance.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Revenue teams to resolve compliance issues and address root causes.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of compliance training and reference materials.
  • Support compliance risk assessments and control inventories by gathering, organizing, and documenting relevant information.
  • Serve as a regulatory compliance advisor for merchant and partner integration with Affirm.
  • Work independently in a fast-paced environment while delivering detailed and diligent work.
  • Identify potential compliance issues and recommend mitigation strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; compliance certifications are a plus.
  • 5+ years of professional work experience in a compliance advisory role.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Experience advising revenue-generating stakeholder groups.
  • Working knowledge of consumer financial laws and regulations, including UDAAP, CAN-SPAM, FCRA, TCPA, TILA (Reg. Z), ECOA (Reg. B), EFTA (Reg. E), and TISA (Reg. DD).
  • Strong interest in fintech and consumer financial protections.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed environment with minimal guidance.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex and contentious issues clearly.
