Description

  • Set the visual and experiential direction for Acquia.com and translate brand and product positioning into web experiences.
  • Co-own and evolve a modern component-based web design system with Brand & Creative.
  • Define, document, and maintain components, patterns, and tokens for consistency and accessibility.
  • Lead AI-era web design efforts, including AI-generated and AI-assisted page surfaces and design language.
  • Adopt and operationalize AI-assisted design and build tools to improve team velocity.
  • Design and ship pages and experiences from concept through live implementation.
  • Work across Tailwind, React, Drupal, custom HTML/CSS, and lightweight JavaScript when needed.
  • Own the full lifecycle of web initiatives, including brief, concept, system implications, build, measurement, and iteration.
  • Collaborate with Brand & Creative, web engineers, marketing, demand generation, and leadership on launches and roadmap decisions.
  • Present and defend design decisions with a clear point of view on the future of web design.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of web design experience, with senior-level ownership of at least one complex site or property.
  • A portfolio that includes a shipped B2B SaaS or enterprise web project and a design system or substantial component library.
  • Strong visual design instincts with creative range across illustration, motion, layout, and typography.
  • Working fluency with Tailwind and modern React component patterns, with willingness to write code.
  • Comfort using Figma daily and Adobe Creative Suite when needed.
  • Strong accessibility knowledge, with WCAG 2.1 AA as the default standard.
  • Experience with AI-assisted design and build workflows, plus an opinion on how to use them effectively.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, fluent in English, and comfort presenting to leadership.
  • Ability to work self-directed in a remote senior-role environment.
  • Preferred: direct experience with Drupal or other enterprise CMS platforms.
  • Preferred: background designing AI-native or agentic experiences.
  • Preferred: front-end engineering experience beyond Tailwind/React, such as build tools, design tokens, or component testing.
  • Preferred: experience evolving a brand’s web expression rather than only executing an existing one.
