Description

  • Serve as the teacher of record and primary instructor across core content areas and grade levels.
  • Deliver effective live lessons via web conference based on student needs and research-based instructional practices.
  • Set up each course in the Learning Management System.
  • Monitor student progress in asynchronous courses and provide daily feedback and grading.
  • Track and maintain regular contact with each student.
  • Collaborate with the principal to create and deliver student progress reports.
  • Review student-level data frequently to adjust instructional planning and support.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
  • Use research-based best practices in synchronous and asynchronous instruction.
  • Create a joyful, caring classroom culture and implement school-wide expectations and norms.
  • Communicate regularly with families about students’ academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Integrate culturally responsive practices into lessons and interactions with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Participate in planning and in-person attendance for non-instructional activities, including social events, field trips, and annual state testing.
  • Travel as required for face-to-face student events and state testing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current state teaching license in the appropriate content area.
  • Knowledge of state standards and Common Core Standards.
  • Preferred: two years of teaching experience.
  • High comfort level working in a growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to properly manage confidential information.
  • Ability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time.
  • Ability to supervise students in all school settings.
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
  • Experience working in a multicultural setting preferred.
  • Open to Florida residents only.
  • Willingness to travel and attend in person several times per year for state testing and student events.
