Description

  • Architect and build 'agent-ready' infrastructure, including sandboxed environments and headless interfaces that allow AI agents to execute safely without human hand-holding
  • Design and deliver developer tooling and platform systems that enable hundreds of engineers and thousands of agents to build software faster
  • Embed with product teams to identify friction in the Plan → Code → Test loop and ship 0-to-1 internal tools that automate bottlenecks
  • Develop validation frameworks that replace manual human validation with deterministic proofs allowing agents to verify their own work
  • Act as a technical scout to evaluate emerging agentic frameworks and inform build-vs-buy strategy
  • Remove structural bottlenecks between human intent and shipped code for mission-critical systems
  • Influence Abnormal’s broader AI strategy while owning and shipping critical AI DevX systems

Requirements

  • Typically 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Deep familiarity with modern AI coding workflows (examples cited: Cursor, Claude Code) and ability to engineer around model limitations
  • Proven focus on solving user problems and shipping solutions that get adopted rather than building infrastructure in a vacuum
  • Uncompromising focus on velocity × excellence, including automating tasks with robust production-ready scripts
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and ship complex features with minimal oversight
  • Production-grade systems expertise spanning backend services (Python/Go), cloud infrastructure, and data systems (nice to have)
  • Experience building internal developer platforms, CLIs, or CI/CD systems at scale (nice to have)
  • Experience with or interest in AI evangelism—sharing knowledge through documentation, workshops, or technical sessions (nice to have)
  • History of contributing to open source developer tools or AI frameworks (nice to have)

Benefits

  • Base salary range: $209,800 — $246,800 USD
  • Certain roles are eligible for a bonus, restricted stock units (RSUs), and company benefits
  • Individual compensation packages are based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications
