Description

  • Execute Team Rubicon’s strategy to improve rapid, local disaster response.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with disaster assistance organizations at the state, county, and city levels.
  • Support the leadership lifecycle for Greyshirt volunteer leaders, including recruitment, onboarding, and development.
  • Manage purchasing, expenses, and event approvals within the branch budget.
  • Serve as a key member of the Emergency Operations Team during disaster situations.
  • Assume a designated role within the Emergency Operations Center and complete tasks assigned by EOC leadership.
  • Participate in EOC activation, operations, and deactivation to support response coordination.
  • Coordinate response activities with local, state, federal, and non-governmental agencies.
  • Help develop and implement disaster response strategies and ensure resources are deployed efficiently.
  • Facilitate communication between field operations, the EOC, and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in the military, disaster response, emergency management, or first responder fields.
  • Proven personnel management experience, including recruiting, managing, training, and developing employees and volunteers.
  • Experience using technology tools to communicate and coordinate remotely with a large network of staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders.
  • Successful past performance leading volunteers is highly desired.
  • Full-time role with a salary-exempt classification.
  • Must be based in New England: Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont.
  • Ability to work a flexible, non-traditional schedule, including evenings and weekends for meetings, events, and operations.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Ability to travel locally as needed and at least 25% non-local travel.
  • Experience in disaster response operations or emergency management is preferred.
