Description

  • Own timely and accurate payroll processing across the U.S. and Canada on every cycle.
  • Monitor federal, state, provincial, and local payroll regulations and keep leadership informed of relevant changes.
  • Process and distribute employee payments, prepare payroll runs, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare payroll reports covering earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.
  • Research and resolve employment tax inquiries and discrepancies and set up tax profiles with appropriate jurisdictions.
  • Maintain compliance with payroll-related legal requirements, including tax filings and regulatory reporting.
  • Handle sensitive payroll information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Support special projects and create ad hoc reports for internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Streamline, automate, and improve payroll processes where possible.
  • Enroll new hires in U.S. and Canadian benefit plans, including 401(k) and RRSP programs, and maintain employee benefit accounts.

Requirements

  • Based in the Atlanta, Georgia area; this is a fully remote role for local candidates only.
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field.
  • 2-5 years of payroll experience with hands-on processing in both the U.S. and Canada.
  • Experience with multi-jurisdictional payroll compliance across federal, state, provincial, and local requirements.
  • Solid familiarity with benefits administration, including retirement plans in both countries.
  • Experience with payroll and HRIS systems.
  • BambooHR and PayEvo experience is a nice-to-have.
  • CPP designation is a bonus.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive data carefully.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and adapt quickly to changing needs.
