Description

Own major in-app features from development through delivery, working closely with the design team.
Help shape the direction of the Android team and contribute to technical decisions.
Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key product features.
Collaborate across Product, Design, and Engineering teams on feature development and execution.
Review pull requests and support teammates through code reviews and collaboration.
Handle critical issues and respond to unexpected technical challenges.
Own feature releases and provide nightly builds for the QA team.

Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience.
Experience with Android components.
Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
Strong product design intuition and user empathy.
Ability to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX.
Understanding of testing practices and how to write tests.
Self-driven mindset to improve the app and codebase beyond the spec.
Strong experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
Excellent communication skills.
User-oriented problem-solving approach.
Driven and receptive to continuous feedback from leaders.
Preferred: experience building, maintaining, or contributing to open source Android projects.
Preferred: experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS.
