Description

  • Own major Android app features from design through delivery, working closely with the design team.
  • Help shape the direction of the Android team and contribute to technical leadership.
  • Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key app features.
  • Collaborate across Product, Design, and Engineering to define and deliver solutions.
  • Review pull requests and support teammates through code review and technical guidance.
  • Handle critical issues and unexpected production challenges.
  • Own feature releases and provide nightly builds for the QA team.
  • Contribute to product decisions and help improve the user experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
  • Familiarity with Android components.
  • Strong product design intuition and user empathy.
  • Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX.
  • Understanding of testing practices and how to write tests.
  • Self-driven approach to improving the app and codebase beyond the spec.
  • Strong experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • User-oriented problem-solving approach.
  • Experience building, maintaining, or contributing to open source Android projects is a bonus.
  • Experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS is a bonus.
