Description

  • Own major app features and deliver high-quality releases in collaboration with the design team.
  • Shape the future direction of the Android team through technical leadership and execution.
  • Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key product features.
  • Collaborate across Product, Design, and Engineering on feature decisions and implementation.
  • Review pull requests and support teammates through code review and technical guidance.
  • Handle critical issues and respond to unexpected technical challenges.
  • Own feature releases and provide nightly builds for the QA team.
  • Contribute to product decisions and user experience improvements across the app.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
  • Familiarity with Android components.
  • Strong experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, and JUnit tests.
  • Understanding of test strategy and the importance of writing tests.
  • Product design intuition and user empathy.
  • Drive to improve Android UI/UX and go beyond the written spec.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • User-oriented problem-solving approach.
  • Preferred: experience building, maintaining, or contributing to open source Android projects.
  • Preferred: experience with iOS, Web, or NodeJS.
