Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs for public and internal services, including TTS, payments, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption tracking.
  • Oversee the backend API landscape and improve performance and maintainability.
  • Build backend services that meet business, scalability, and reliability requirements.
  • Collaborate on B2B solutions with a focus on enterprise customization and integration needs.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with product strategy and user experience.
  • Contribute to product decisions in a fast-paced, strategic environment.
  • Support the delivery of backend systems that power Speechify’s text-to-speech products.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in backend development with TypeScript and Node.js (required).
  • Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers.
  • Ability to ideate and implement efficiently while prioritizing tasks by urgency and impact.
  • Experience with Docker and containerized deployments (preferred).
  • Experience deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a flat, distributed organization.
  • Available to complete a multi-step technical interview process, which Speechify aims to finish within 1 week.
