Description

  • Design, implement, and operate cloud-native infrastructure across GCP, AWS, or Azure using Terraform.
  • Own MongoDB Atlas production operations, including cluster architecture, scaling, replication, high availability, backup, disaster recovery, performance tuning, security, and access control.
  • Architect and manage containerised and serverless workloads such as Cloud Run, ECS, Kubernetes, or equivalents.
  • Design and operate event-driven systems using services such as Pub/Sub, SQS/SNS, and EventBridge.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with a focus on automation, reliability, and scalability.
  • Develop reusable Terraform Infrastructure as Code modules and manage multi-environment setups.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on system architecture, scalability, and performance optimisation.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability across distributed systems.
  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis, and drive long-term improvements.
  • Own infrastructure decisions end-to-end, including architecture, cost optimisation, performance, documentation, runbooks, and best practices.
  • Mentor engineers and promote DevOps best practices across the organisation.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering experience in production environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider: GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Advanced Terraform experience, including modularisation, remote state, and multi-environment setups.
  • Proven experience designing and operating scalable cloud infrastructure.
  • Deep MongoDB Atlas production experience, including cluster configuration, scaling, replication, failover, backup, recovery, performance tuning, indexing, security, and access management.
  • Experience with containerised environments such as Docker or Kubernetes, or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Solid understanding of event-driven architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability in distributed systems.
  • Ability to operate at an architect or owner level in a remote, async-first team.
  • Strong communication skills for working in a remote, async-first environment.
  • Experience working across multiple cloud providers, GitOps practices, advanced observability tools such as Datadog/APM/tracing, high-scale SaaS platforms, or interest in platform engineering and developer experience is preferred.
