Description

  • Manage a distributed team of engineers and help them perform at their best.
  • Remove blockers and impediments to keep work moving forward.
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration and improve working practices.
  • Engage in technical conversations and help teams make strong technical decisions.
  • Set milestones, communicate delivery timelines, and help remove delivery impediments.
  • Work with stakeholders and product managers to keep the product roadmap defined and current.
  • Define OKRs aligned to company mission and product direction.
  • Maintain quality standards while encouraging short feedback cycles and experimentation.
  • Coach, mentor, and support engineers through regular 1:1s and ongoing feedback.
  • Collaborate with Product, Docs, Customer Experience, and the broader community.

Requirements

  • Remote candidates must be based in the US or Canada, with EST working hours preferred.
  • Strong software engineering background and the ability to engage in technical discussions.
  • Experience managing or coaching highly technical engineering teams.
  • Technical familiarity with backend development, primarily Go.
  • Ability to lead a team with a strong sense of autonomy in technical and product decisions.
  • Experience working with product managers and stakeholders on roadmap planning and OKRs.
  • Commitment to quality, feedback, and iterative delivery.
  • Comfort staying current with technical trends and challenges facing engineering teams.
  • Experience collaborating with open-source communities and operating with transparency is preferred.

  • Base compensation range of CAD 211,450 to CAD 253,740, depending on level, experience, and skillset.
