Description

  • Build and operate a highly performant, available, and scalable data access gateway for online product data.
  • Abstract storage complexity such as indices, data placement, replication, security, and data lifecycle management away from product developers.
  • Build and operate a generalized data schematization solution across a wide variety of Airbnb storage backends.
  • Support schema definition, schema lifecycle management, runtime schema discovery, and object relation model capabilities.
  • Satisfy broad compliance requirements through the data management platform.
  • Provide guidance to Airbnb product teams on the effective use of data storage technologies in large-scale systems.
  • Optimize performance for high-scale infrastructure and service APIs.
  • Own and dive deeply into a complex codebase.
  • Collaborate effectively in a remote-working environment with strong communication and coordination.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Hands-on experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
  • Solid understanding of systems and infrastructure fundamentals.
  • Ability to own and work deeply within a complex codebase.
  • Ability to write clean, readable, testable, and maintainable code.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills in a remote-working environment.
  • Ability to leverage cutting-edge AI technologies to build solutions.
  • US remote eligible; candidate must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
  • Occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites may be required.
  • Experience with high-performance infrastructure service APIs and large-scale systems is implied by the role context.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $244,000 to $305,000 USD.
  • May be eligible for bonus.
